I'm a Real Hobbit

Okay so Keith and I have been playing Lord of the Rings Online for a while. We even got lifetime subscriptions ...

I chose to play a hobbit from day one because A) Its kind of like being a mischevious kid. B) They're cute! C'mon! and C) Well I just don't FEEL like an elf or a human, really.

But to my surprise I discovered something the other day. In MMORPGs I spend all my time running around in my armor. I've never been one to buy special 'rp' gear that I have to change in and out of and blah blah blah - but in LOTRO you have the option to equip your 'cosmetic' times in a seperate tab and show them with a simple click. For the first time ever I clicked that tab and discovered that my LOTRO hobbit looks just like I do IRL.

I am a real hobbit.

Oh Blog, How I've Neglected You

As anyone can see I have severely neglected my blog. Why? I'm not entirely sure. Well a couple reasons, really.

I was planning a trip to Germany - which is done and over.

And the weather here in England has been so nice that I haven't been indoors a whole lot.

I know, neither are really good excuses - but I'm back on the Blog-train so let's get this thing rollin'!

Keith and I spent 6 glorious days in Germany at the Edelweiss resort which was ah-may-zing!! Due to me being neurotic we flew instead of driving. For me its just nice knowing I don't have to worry about getting from point A to point B. I really enjoy just sitting back and not worrying for a change.

I don't want to go all picture crazy, so here's a link to the flikr set that Keith uploaded: Germany Picture Set. Bare in mind that is only a small piece of the 500 pictures we took - but since we have a free flikr account we're limited in what we can upload every month ... so more pictures will be uploaded in May.

YouTube - Entertainment of CHAMPIONS!

I'll do a real blog post later --

But I came across this vid and watched it like 10 times in a row and absolutely DIED laughing every time. I don't speak or read Korean - but you don't have to in order to find the entertainment value in this video.

I soooo wanna kareoke right now.

The simplest things are often the funniest

Before I elaborate on the title ... Just making note that there are 2 weddings to edit this weekend. I was supposed to film a wedding last night - but when I tried (REPEATEDLY) to log into SL it just hung on the "initializing world" screen and wouldn't go any further. Has anyone else had this problem? Of course I tried to send a bug report - but the crash logger thing freezes too so that's a big no-go.

I refunded the girl her money and apologized. Definately wasn't fun for me to get up at 1am and try for an hour straight to log into SL. After that first hour I just gave up and went back to my warm bed and snuggle up with that one cute guy I know. Ohhhh what's his name ..Keith! Yeah that's it.

And I found a video today that absolutely cracked me up. In my younger years I used to play games that scared the living daylights out of me. The ones where random stuff pop out .. Resident Evil, Resident Evil 2, Evil Dead, and recently (though i haven't played it) F.E.A.R Anyway here is a YouTube video of a guy playing Resident Evil 2 .. and recording the audio WHILE he plays it. Its subtitled for those that don't know Japanese (I only know a few cuss words myself LOL)

"Where does he get those wonderful toys?"
Jack Nickelson as The Joker once said that about Michael Keaton as Batman. As soon as I saw this thing .. that's immediately what I said. Out loud, no less. (its true I tend to talk out loud and make Bebop look at me and go "wtf?")

Bebop and I have a lot of really great creative friends. We also film a lot even though we rarely let most that footage see the light of day ^^; As many know my head gears (as small as they are) grind continuously with ideas for stuff. Yea that's the best way to describe it - stuff.

For the past year or so Bebop and I have been developing a character for a series which I won't name right now (and no its not cuz I don't have a name for it yet - GOSH) and have been filming. Our filming has picked up a whole lot lately due to our surroundings. We've recently had more leisure time in SL and have rekindled old friendships which have lead to new ones which makes for very fun times. I'm totally off topic.

We've been working on episodes for this series - and there is this badass thing that our main character uses. Its called a "Boomlash" and its simply the greatest thing I've probably ever played with in SL. WARNING: If you have a crappy graphics card or you lag - don't even bother because such things are really just a disgrace to this genious toy!

I started out taking pictures of it - then quickly said "Pft pictures don't do this thing justice - I must film!" So I did. I filmed me throwing the Boomlash - different angles to show you the intricate details - and just to show off the fun animations.

Mind you this thing isn't 'cheap'. If you want a Boomlash you're going to be dropping 2,000L - but seriously I've spent more on lesser things. It comes with a very detailed notecard to tell you how to use it - and its just damned entertaining and one of the best looking, best scripted, well thought out, flat out FUN things I've found in SL.

It does hit people and will knock them back about a meter or two - so it isn't a real 'weapon'. The fun part about the Boomlash is when you throw it at like .. the side of a building it STICKS and you can jump up on it and use it like a climbing thing. I know, descriptive right?

So without further adieu - here is the short video showcasing the Boomlash made by the very talented Anisa Naumova of Curious Relics.

Girls just wanna have fun

So tonight I played around in SL a bit with my friend Stef (aka Xaria). First we ran around everywhere looking for torn fishnets. We found normal thigh highs, torn thigh highs, striped thigh highs, torn striped thigh highs .. but no torn thigh high fishnets!

We gave up and decided to just go dorky dance shopping.

We were a success.

Yeah yeah Sine Wave has the newest 'big thing' out - but seriously their dances just aren't me. They all look like jerky cheer leader moves. BUT: they do have one dance I like and that was spun sugar. That's the only dance there that actually feels like a dance and not a squad move o' doom.

Xaria and I hit up our favorite random dance animation place .... ummm I can't remember the name of it right NOW but Christiano Midnight made some good money off us tonight. OMFG some of the most hilarious shit! I say it all the time: I'm not in SL to live an alternate life. I'm there to have fun. Therefore I do not spend tons of lindens to make my avatar look like some heroine chic model. I do not buy dances just to move more appealingly. Everything I do in SL has an entertainment value for me.

I stuck a prim cigarette in my mouth and ran around with a flyswatter tonight. Why? Why the hell not?! I'd whack random people with my flyswat and have a good dork laugh about it. Then we rezed huge Aqua Net hairspray cans and danced around with our dork dances. It was great.
