New Painting

There is a new painting posted over at my art blog

BUT - I am going to be putting all my paintings on Etsy to sell. I highly recommend this site not only for buying artwork, but for buying custom clothes as well. Everything on etsy is HAND MADE by someone and in limited quantities so you know you're fuckin' awesome cuz no one has your shit, homes!

Anyway - the Etsy shop isn't set up yet. I plan to do that after the holidays (maybe before if I really really work on it.)

I'm also modding the HELL out of some Eloh skins and have been passing my mods out to noobs. Unfortunately they think I am kidding and not giving them a skin so they never put them on :(

Maybe I should just set up a shop of 100L modded skins of weirdness. Who knows. I know its taken me weeks to find just the perfect brush (and hardness) to do makeup. That shit blows ya'll. Seriously.

New Paintings

New paintings are now posted over at my art page: ManicStatic

I still don't have a new and inventive way to do purchases - and I'm still selling the originals on canvas ... but I am working on the print situation!

Just Groovin'

Song of the Day is now located on a widget over there ----------------->

I finished another painting - but I have a lot of stuff to do :(

I have to get pictures taken of a lot of other paintings, as well as try to find a decent printing company that I can team up with. I've had a lot of inquiries about my paintings, but a lot of it is people wanting prints - not the actual canvas painting. Sooo yeah I definitely have to look into that. It wasn't even something I'd thought of!

Keith goes back to work next week and our sleep schedule is totally wonky. We stay up till 7/8am go to bed, wake up at 5pm and do it all again. We're going to bed here in about an hour and hope that our first day of being awake during daylight hours will be eventful!

So yeah! Busy busy painting! And I'm sure once I set myself up with a printing company that I can hopefully just sell enough prints to pay for my art supplies! Weee!

My Webcomic

So I started my webcomic yesterday. I've decided that it'll be a daily thing of whatever random funny stuff that comes to mind :D

http://ManicStatic.wordpress.com

I opted for a wordpress blog thing because I couldn't see paying for a domain if I'm unsuccessful. And by successful I mean people actually like the stuff I draw and buy shirts and whatever from my cafe press store. (there's a banner on the site!)

New Video Yayyyy!

I just did a video to show how far dance animations have come in SL :)

No real point to the video itself other than my avatar dancing - from old dances to the newest release from Sine Wave.

Anyway - I just wanted to try out some new editing techniques mostly. I'm still working on my on-beat edits which I got quite a few of them in! I'm proud.

I did my homework and still didn't come out to play :(

So I edited that wedding, got it rendered in windows media AND quicktime - did a NSS post on it and now its allll done :D And people think I just sit around and do nothing (cough KEITH cough).

As I said yesterday we have another wedding already scheduled in August, but I'm sure more spur-of-the-moment ones will pop up as they've been doing lately. I'm also hoping that we at least start building my computer soon so that my footage can at least hold a half dead zippo flame to Keith's. I have a feeling its going to be a slow process though *emotear*

Later tonight I am going to sit down and do a Mean Girls post. It seems to work out well that I do them either my late night or my early morning so that folks get to see the posts at 'convienent' times. Or maybe I'm just a comment whore and try to decide when will be the 'peak time' for comments. It could be both!

Mean Girls posts are coming more and more easily to me, and I"m not sure if that's a good thing or not. I mean .. it isn't like I'm straight up bitchy. There are just things that get me riled up - and they vary from day to day. Meh that's what that blog is all about anyway so I won't even try to analyze it.

I haven't done a song of the day for a while, so I think I'll do one today! Today's song is :

You're Not Alone by Olive

In a way it's all,
A matter of time,
I will not worry for you,
You'll be just fine.

Take my thoughts with you,
And when you look behind,
You will surely see a face that you recognize.

Chorus:
You're not alone, I'll wait till the end of time,
Open your mind, surely it's plain to see,
You're not alone, I'll wait till the end of time for you,
Open your mind, surely there's time to be with me...

It is the distance,
that makes like a little hard,
Two minds that once were close,
Now so many miles apart,

I will not falter though,
I'll hold on 'till you're home,
Safely back where you belong,
And see how our love has grown.

Chorus:
You're not alone

"Where does he get those wonderful toys?"
Jack Nickelson as The Joker once said that about Michael Keaton as Batman. As soon as I saw this thing .. that's immediately what I said. Out loud, no less. (its true I tend to talk out loud and make Bebop look at me and go "wtf?")

Bebop and I have a lot of really great creative friends. We also film a lot even though we rarely let most that footage see the light of day ^^; As many know my head gears (as small as they are) grind continuously with ideas for stuff. Yea that's the best way to describe it - stuff.

For the past year or so Bebop and I have been developing a character for a series which I won't name right now (and no its not cuz I don't have a name for it yet - GOSH) and have been filming. Our filming has picked up a whole lot lately due to our surroundings. We've recently had more leisure time in SL and have rekindled old friendships which have lead to new ones which makes for very fun times. I'm totally off topic.

We've been working on episodes for this series - and there is this badass thing that our main character uses. Its called a "Boomlash" and its simply the greatest thing I've probably ever played with in SL. WARNING: If you have a crappy graphics card or you lag - don't even bother because such things are really just a disgrace to this genious toy!

I started out taking pictures of it - then quickly said "Pft pictures don't do this thing justice - I must film!" So I did. I filmed me throwing the Boomlash - different angles to show you the intricate details - and just to show off the fun animations.

Mind you this thing isn't 'cheap'. If you want a Boomlash you're going to be dropping 2,000L - but seriously I've spent more on lesser things. It comes with a very detailed notecard to tell you how to use it - and its just damned entertaining and one of the best looking, best scripted, well thought out, flat out FUN things I've found in SL.

It does hit people and will knock them back about a meter or two - so it isn't a real 'weapon'. The fun part about the Boomlash is when you throw it at like .. the side of a building it STICKS and you can jump up on it and use it like a climbing thing. I know, descriptive right?

So without further adieu - here is the short video showcasing the Boomlash made by the very talented Anisa Naumova of Curious Relics.

Its 0300 and I just (and I mean *JUST*) finished editing Keith's video present.

I'm a little disappointed that I didn't do as much 'new' stuff as I had hoped. I really wanted to 'wow' him and maybe do a thing or two that he possibly didn't know how to do. I think I might have gotten one thing in .. but that's it.

I went with the up-beat song because it was more fun to edit to -- and I'm such a sucker for working my ass off to try to get a few onbeat edits in there. I'll have you know that my last Guild Wars video had a TON of on beat edits (you just have to really look - including things in the background!)

Hopefully this gets at least a smile out of him. That's all I'm really trying for anyway. But yeah the upbeat song ... I just couldn't film 'with' it. I decided to just film some stuff and set it to that song - but to not let the song dictate my footage.

So yeah it done. Not sure if its going to get uploaded anywhere due to the fact that its a present .. but ya never know. I'm definitely not doing anything with it until Keith wakes up and watches it *FIRST*. He'll be up in oh .... an hour and a half LOL

I'm going to creep into bed and get my cuddle on :)

OH!

I have to give huge thanks to:

Willow - Acting as shopping road signs so I could update my look before filming

Jade & Bart - OMFG I'm so glad I thought of you all to contact ... a lot of those shots wouldn't have been possible without your help!

The builders of all my favorite places:
Gypsy Moon
Devils Moon
Midnight City
Fallingwater Celladoor (your flowers are so cute! ^.^)

Okay I think that's all x.X
